The men forced their way into the Hawthorn Scrap Metal Dealers in Sloan Avenue at about 12:50 on Monday (January 23, 2012). Det Insp Colin Drummond, from Strathclyde Police, appealed for information and said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the Sloan Avenue or Steadman Place areas of Irvine on Monday and who saw anyone hanging around this area.”
